The drive offers an excellent opportunity to appreciate the country’s nickname, “The Land of a Thousand Hills.” Upon arrival at Nyungwe, settle into your lodge nestled within the forest and prepare for the exciting chimpanzee trek awaiting you the next morning.

  Join us this morning for an unforgettable forest trek in Nyungwe National Park, as we set out in search of the playful and intelligent chimpanzees. Walking through the ancient rainforest, you’ll listen to their distant calls echoing through the canopy before coming face-to-face with them in their natural habitat. Spending time with these remarkable primates is sure to be one of the most memorable highlights of your safari.

  This afternoon, embark on a guided nature walk along the Igishigishigi Trail, one of Nyungwe’s most scenic forest paths. The short but rewarding hike leads you through dense rainforest filled with birds, orchids, and butterflies, culminating in a thrilling 200-meter-long canopy walkway suspended high above the forest floor. From this breathtaking vantage point, enjoy panoramic views of the treetops and the misty hills beyond — an unforgettable perspective of Rwanda’s pristine wilderness.
